Timeless Pianist & Composer

How it all started

Ashley began learning piano around 13 years old with Sierra Cumming. She was enchanted by the music from the Legend of Zelda and all the adventures it would take her on at the piano. After a few years of piano lessons and examinations through the Royal Conservatory of Music, she began voice lessons, and it boosted her creativity. She went from playing Chopin waltzes and Bach preludes to singing music by Sade and Imogen Heap!

The Start of Something New

“One day after school, I turned on my macbook air and opened up garageband, a program I only used in elementary school once or twice. I went through all the different loops and downloaded an Ariana Grande song onto my computer. Before I knew it, I had completely remixed the song to have ambient piano, strong bass lines, and a lush string section. It planted the seed for my passion in audio engineering and media composition!”

“Ashley’s patience, encouragement, and expertise have truly made a difference. She creates a fun and supportive learning environment that keeps my child motivated and excited to play.”

Ashley studied music and psychology at York University. Her many interests led her to get a co-op at one of Toronto’s largest psychology clinics, completing her ARCT in piano performance, and landing her first paid performance opportunity at Small World Music hall.

Now her career spans from teaching musicians of all ages, performing for live events, being a collaborative pianist for Brampton Children’s Chorus, to composing for film, games, and dance.

“Every experience I have is a new opportunity to expose people to the joy of making music.”
